Samarra isn’t the only one haunted by grief. 

Zain is unravelling, far more than he has ever let on. In the lead-up to their long-awaited road trip to Eidyn, his life has become a maze of obstacles. He must navigate threats from Mariana’s gang, avoid corrupt Shade officers, control his anger outbursts, and relinquish the suffocating grip Dust has on his mind. 

He doesn’t know if he’ll make it to the road trip before he breaks completely, but he is determined to try.
